CENTRO ADDS DIAL-A-RIDE BUS TO ITS FLEET

July 25, 2006

Rome, NY- Centro has a new Dial-A-Ride bus on the road in Rome, furthering its commitment to upgrade transit services in Oneida County. The new vehicle replaces an older one that has reached the end of its useful lifespan.

The new 24-foot vehicle includes an electronic destination sign, air conditioning and the latest mobility lift technology.

“This vehicle is a substantial upgrade over the quality of our previous Dial-A-Ride vehicles,” said Centro of Oneida General Manager Ron Bucciero. “Our Dial-A-Ride ridership is growing and we are upgrading our services for those customers.”

Centro operates 3 Dial-A-Ride vehicles in Rome. Centro has also added two replacement Dial-A-Ride vehicles for use in Utica. The buses were purchased from Empire Bus Sales in Elmira, NY.
