Centro’s New Syracuse Bus Passes Available to Public April 27th

Syracuse, NY – Centro’s new bus passes will go on sale for Syracuse and Onondaga County customers on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at all of its Syracuse pass outlets, including the Centro Information Booth in Downtown Syracuse.  The passes offer bus riders a discount on new cash fares which go into effect Monday, May 2, 2011.

“The passes will provide our customers with a significant discount off the cash fare prices.  We want to ensure that our riders have an opportunity to buy the new passes prior to May 2nd when our new fares take effect,” said Centro Director of Marketing & Communications Steven J. Koegel. 

The new pass prices in Syracuse are:

7-Day Unlimited Ride pass (valid in Zone 1 only) = $15.00
30-Day Unlimited Ride pass (valid in Zone 1 only) = $60.00

Zone 1 10-Ride Pass = $15.00/Adults; $7.50/Reduced fare

Zone 2 10-Ride Pass = $27.00/Adults;   $13.50/Reduced fare
(Commuter passes to Tully, Central Square, Skaneateles, Phoenix, Jordan and Weedsport)

Zone 3 10-Ride Pass = $36.00/Adults;   $18.00/Reduced fare
(Commuter passes to Auburn & Fulton)

Zone 4 10-Ride Pass = $45.00/Adults;   $22.50/Reduced fare
(Commuter passes to Oswego)

Centro will honor its discontinued Syracuse fare media, including its old Zone 2 Passes and Centro Debit Cards, until June 1, 2011 at which time they will no longer be valid on Centro buses.  Customers are encouraged to use these passes prior to the June 1 expiration date, or exchange any UNUSED passes by bringing them to Centro’s offices at 200 Cortland Avenue. 

Customers will NOT receive cash refunds.
    
Customers paying bus fare with cash will continue to pay existing fares until Monday, May 2, 2011 when the adult cash fare will increase to $2.00 in Syracuse.

The cost of Centro’s passes for use within the cities of Auburn, Oswego, Fulton, Utica and Rome will increase May 2, 2011.

For Utica:

Weekly Unlimited Ride pass = $15.00
30-Day Unlimited Ride pass = $60.00
10-Ride Pass =$15.00/Adults; $7.50/Reduced fare

For Auburn, Fulton, Oswego & Rome:

Weekly Unlimited Ride pass = $10.00
30-Day Unlimited Ride pass = $40.00
10-Ride Pass = $10.00/Adults; $5.00/Reduced fare
