New fares to go into effect May 18, 2009

New Centro Bus Passes Coming in May

Rome, NY – Centro customers in Rome will soon be able to buy NEW Centro passes that allow riders more flexible unlimited ride options. Centro will introduce new weekly and monthly passes in Rome that offer customers unlimited rides for a pre-determined number of days – seven (7) consecutive calendar days (six consecutive days of service) for weekly passes and thirty (30) calendar days for monthly passes.

Unlike the previous monthly passes, Centro’s new passes do not expire on the last day of each month.  The new passes can be activated any day of the month and are valid for the next 30 consecutive calendar days.  The unlimited ride weekly pass is a new option available to Centro customers.

Centro’s popular 10-ride passes will continue to be offered, however the passes will have a new look.  Each of these new types of passes will be available May 18, 2009 as Centro phases out many of its old passes.  Centro will continue to honor all old-style bus passes until May 31, 2009, after which those passes will no longer be accepted on Centro buses.

The new passes can be purchased at:

Centro Information Center
225 West Liberty Street
Rome , NY 13440

or purchased by phone 315-336-5310.

New schedules will be available in print and online on April 27, 2009.   Customers are encouraged to call 336-5310 for details.
