Centro customers in Rome will see some significant changes to its service as of May 4, 2009.  The following routes are affected:

Route 2
Service to Canal Place Shopping Center will be performed only on request.  Customers who need to be picked up at the Canal Place Shopping Center should contact Centro at 336-5310 to make a request.

Route 4
This route will now operate along James Street instead of Turin Street providing direct service to Rome Hospital on all trips except the first of each day.  The first trip of each day will continue to operate along Turin Street.

Route 5
This route will now provide service to the Griffiss Park and then Price Chopper via Black River Boulevard as it leaves the city.  This will provide a better transfer opportunity at Griffiss Park for customers wishing to transfer between Route 5 and Route 6.  This route will operate via James Street instead of Black River Boulevard after it leaves Rome Memorial Hospital as it approaches the city.

Route 6
Route 6 will operate on Ridge St. when approaching the city in order to provide new service to the Rome Senior Center and Freedom Plaza. Due to the improved service on Route 7 to the train station to meet Amtrak’s schedule, this route will no longer operate to the train station. This route will provide service to the Mohawk and Oneida Correctional Facilities prison only on request. Customers who need to be picked up at the correctional facilities should contact Centro at 336-5310 to make a request.

Route 7
This route will operate along Gansevort Street to provide new service to Park Drive Manor, Griffiss Park and RFA High School.  Customers will now have the ability to transfer from Route 7 to Route 6 or Route 9 at Griffiss Park.  Service to the Train Station has been adjusted to better match the existing Amtrak train schedule.  This route will no longer serve the Mohawk and Oneida Correctional Facilities. 

Route 9
This route will now operate via James St, instead of Black River Boulevard, after leaving
Rome Memorial Hospital.

     New schedules will be available in print and online on April 27, 2009.   Customers are encouraged to call 336-5310 for details.
