Centro Adds Service to Elbridge, North Syracuse and Central Square |
Centro adds service to Elbridge, North Syracuse, and Central Square;
Discontinues West Direct Route 60
In response to increased demand for suburban bus services, Centro will
add commuter trips to Elbridge, North Syracuse, and Central Square beginning September 2,
2008.
The changes to North Syracuse include operating a local 88 North Syracuse trip leaving
downtown at 4:15pm combined with a complementary express 388 Central Square bus trip
leaving downtown at 4:18pm serving the further reaching suburbs of Cicero, Brewerton and
Central Square. In addition, Centro is adding another local 88 North Syracuse trip leaving
downtown at 5:40pm. Service to the Route 31-Lakeshore Road spur, which had previously been
operated as an “on-request” service, has been eliminated from the 188 North Syracuse route.
Centro is extending select trips to serve Elbridge. A trip leaving Elbridge at 6:10am
and arriving downtown at 6:45m has been added to the 36 Camillus bus line. A return service
leaving downtown at 4:40pm arriving in Elbridge at 5:30pm has also been added. Both of these
trips will also serve Upstate Medical University. Customers in Elbridge can find these trips
listed on the 36 Camillus and 236 Auburn public timetables.
Centro’s 60 West Direct Bus route will be discontinued due to low ridership.
Centro urges customers to consult the schedules for the 74 Solvay, 36 Camillus and 78 Fairmount
bus lines to find alternate routes to/from destinations.
The following other adjustments will go into effect:
*Route 86 Henry Clay:
-The Crossroads Park and Salina Meadows deviations have been made permanent stops on a couple of trips.
-The Bailey Road route deviation has been eliminated.
*Route 152 Court-Industrial Park:
-Time point adjustments were made on a few trips.
*Route 82 Baldwinsville:
-Times on two Saturday trips were corrected.
*Route 388 Central Square:
-Some minor time changes have been made to trips serving Central Square.
*Route 236 Auburn:
-Two early morning trips to Syracuse will leave 10 minutes earlier
-Two afternoon trips leaving Syracuse will leave 10 minutes later
