Centro to Provide FREE Shuttles for Youth Day Barbeque
Centro will provide free shuttles from Manley Field House for people
attending the 7th Annual Youth Day Barbeque this Saturday in Syracuse.
Centro shuttles will operate every 20 minutes from 8:00am to 8:00pm from temporary
Park-N-Ride locations at the north and south parking lots at Manley Field House to the corner
of South State Street and Colvin Street. Free parking will be available at the Manley Field
House parking lots and the shuttle is available to the general public.
Thousands of people are expected to attend this year’s event, aimed at stressing education and
reducing violence among inner city youth. Last year more than 6,000 backpacks filled with
school supplies were handed out to school children. Backpacks will again be distributed this
year at the Barbeque distribution location at the corner of South Salina Street and Wood Avenue.
The Youth Day Barbeque and founder Mary Nelson received national attention after being
featured on the Regis and Kelly Show in May of this year.
