Centro to Resume Intercity Bus Service to Cayuga County

Effective Monday, August 10, 2020, Centro will resume intercity bus service connecting Cayuga County to Syracuse - Onondaga County. The resumption of service will include the following changes to allow Centro to operate more efficiently:

  • The Route 138 Auburn-Syracuse via TauntonRoute 236 Auburn-Syracuse via Skaneateles-Camillus, and Route 7 Welch Allyn bus routes will be consolidated into a new 138 Auburn-Syracuse via Taunton bus route will provide service to Skaneateles, Welch Allyn, Marcellus and Taunton, while serving the Centro Transit Hub.

  • 12 round trips each weekday will increase service levels to Skaneateles (from 10 round trips per day), Marcellus (from 10 per day) and Taunton (from 6 per day).
  • Service hours will be expanded to provide trips later in the evening.
  • On weekends, a new 238 Auburn-Township 5 bus route will operate between Auburn and Township 5 in Camillus.
  • Connections can be made to Centro’s Syracuse/Onondaga County service from either Township 5 or Camillus Commons.

Please note that the following routes are discontinued until further notice:

  • Route 38 Auburn-Syracuse via Weedsport-Elbridge
  • Route 8 Moravia

Schedule Changes

Effective Monday, August 10, 2020

Service changes include:


  • Aub 38: The 138 Auburn-Syracuse route will service Welch Allyn via a new route between Skaneateles and Marcellus. All trips will operate to and from the Syracuse Hub via the Taunton route.
  • Aub 38: An additional late night weekday trip was added. Leaves Auburn at 9:10 pm. Leaves Syracuse at 10:25 pm.
  • Aub 38: A new weekend route 238 Auburn - Syracuse will make connections to Camillus Commons and Township 5. A transfer to and from downtown Syracuse is required from one of these locations.
