DUTIES: 1. Ensures that shift is adequately staffed; calls in additional personnel as needed.
2. Assign duties to subordinate personnel; supervises employees for quality control purposes.
3. Prepares work orders, prioritizes work assignments, and schedules work.
4. Monitors for repeat repairs.
5. Coordinates and schedules fleet servicing, prepares fleet for next day.
6. Works with staff to keep Fleet running Efficiently
7. Oversees weekend servicers and mechanics ensure adequate coverage.
8. Responsible for servicer, board marker and mechanical staffing on holidays
9. Schedules cleaning/ detailing of event buses and communicates progress to necessary staff
10. Works with Manager of Fleet and Technology to set up bus exchanges and updates Hold sheet
11. Monitors the natural gas fueling system; documents activity and problems; prepare reports; secures leaks and reports to supervisor.
12. Coordinates CNG Facility Call-Ins with Engine Shop Techs by Rotation.
13. Oversee repairs and scheduled maintenance for all light duty and heavy-duty vehicles.
14. Assists department personnel with repairs as needed.
15. Requests building maintenance and repairs as needed.
16. Update overtime files for accuracy
17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required; Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
- Knowledge of engine operation and mechanics for a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques.
- Skill in diagnosing mechanical problems for a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Skill in performing preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in repairing vehicles and small engines.
- Skill in the use of a computer.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires sitting, standing, walking, as well as reaching for prolonged periods daily.
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing and crouching are required on a regular basis.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, as well as computer use is required.
- Work is generally considered moderate physical work.
- Mental and visual attention is required to perform daily work dealing with recordkeeping, reviews, and interpreting data/reports.
